Star Wars cast reunite….

A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away…. the third in arguably the most famous movie franchise ever to be released first graced our screens.

30 years on, the original cast from Star Wars Return of the Jedi reunited in celebration.

Excluding the loveable rogue, Han Solo (Harrison Ford), a majority of the cast members turned out for this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration Europe in Essen, Germany. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) headlined an all star cast of seven which also included Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), Boba Fett (Jeremy Bulloch), Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid), C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) and oddly enough Wicket the Ewok (Warwick Davis).

I say oddly enough as everyone seemed to forget Warwick Davis was a cast member in Star Wars till he found stardom as the lead Willow and later playin memorable characters Professor Flitwick Harry Potter films, funny that.

Check out the present day characters now, who in all honesty are looking a little worse for wear, course ill reserve judgement till I look at myself 30 years on….

Still, seeing them all together brings back a spark of magic from my childhood when I first watched the films. I can’t help but be excited about the impending Star Wars Episode VII. With JJ Abrahams at the helm, I’m fairly confident the maverick who reignited the Star Trek series can bring the same energy and quality to Episode 7. Im hoping once and for all that we can vanquish from memory Star Wars Episodes One through Three after Lucas did his best to strangle the life out the franchise in true Darthvader death grip style.

I shall leave you now to recount the awesomeness of Return of the Jedi with this conveniently placed YouTube video.
